Understanding Unbanked Families

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) recently published its 2015 National Survey of Unbanked and Underbanked Households. In 2015, 7 percent of American households were unbanked (do not have a checking or savings account), and one in five households was underbanked (have a bank account, but also use alternative financial services). These figures are the lowest recorded since the FDIC began this survey in 2009. Read more
